year old Egyptian actor, Ahmed El Saka comes from an artistic family.
His father, Salah El Saka is a director, while his grandfather, Abdu El
Surogi was a singer. As a child, Ahmed dreamt of becoming a football
player, but he found himself headed in a different direction – towards
an acting career. His first experience in acting was as a student in
high school, when he appeared in the play Khod Lak Qaulb, in Alexandria
in 1991. Famous writer, Osama Anwar Okasha took note of Ahmed, and
introduced him to the director, Mohamed Fadel. And this was just the
beginning. Fadel cast him in various roles in TV series such as El Nawa,
Nesf Rabie El Akher, and Helm El Ganoub. And his success in cinema has
been unparalleled, with films like Hamam Fe Amsterdam starring alongside
actor, Mohamed Heneidy. He also appeared in the film, Short Wa Fanela Wa
Cap, for which he was awarded the accolade of best actor at the National
Egyptian Cinema Festival in 2001. And even in the small roles he has
appeared in, such as his portrayal of Atef El Sadat in the film, Ayam El
Sadat, he has been rewarded – receiving an award from President Husni
Mubarak. Ahmed feels that the film Africano represented the pinnacle of
his career, saying that he found himself in that role. His favorite
actors include Ahmed Zaki and YousraĆ. Ahmed married Maha El Soghayer
in November 1999 and, they have a son, Yassin. |
